The Patsy Project Scholarship

At The Patsy Project, we understand the unique challenges that single mothers and their children face. Growing up in a household led by a single mother can be both challenging and inspiring, as these women often embody strength, resilience, and unwavering love. To honor the incredible influence that these mothers have on their children’s lives, we are proud to introduce The Patsy Project Scholarship.

This scholarship is specifically designed to support students who come from families with a single mother. We believe in the power of education and want to provide an opportunity for students to pursue their dreams, just as our mother, Patsy Jo, would have wanted for us.

Scholarship Criteria

To apply for The Patsy Project Scholarship, students must submit a written essay that shares their personal story. The essay should highlight why they feel they deserve this scholarship and, most importantly, how their mother has been a significant influence in their life. We encourage applicants to be authentic and heartfelt in their writing, sharing their experiences, challenges, and the impact their mother has had on their journey.

In addition to the essay, applicants are welcome to include any other materials that they feel support their application, such as images, videos, or other creative expressions that showcase their story and their mother’s influence.

A Personal Commitment

For us, this scholarship is deeply personal. My sister, Kristina (Tina) Jo, and I both grew up with our mother, Patsy Jo, who was the cornerstone of our lives. Her strength, compassion, and dedication were the guiding lights that shaped us into who we are today. As we navigated our own paths towards higher education, we often wished for opportunities like this—scholarships that recognized the unique circumstances of growing up with a single mother and the profound impact she had on our lives.
